Death Bed
Alone
in a small room,
In a blue gown dress,
Supine on a white bed,
My silver hair lay on my chest.
A table with little notes,
And balloons strung to its drawer,
A soft nudge and they all
fall,
Scatter across the floor.
Small smiles stare up at me,
Little laughs and lots of love.
Lying quiet,
Not a second of sleep,
There's too much to do,
Time always creeps.
So before it's too late,
Listen close,
For when the pain finally abates,
My eyes will forever be
closed.
