Perspectives
I tiptoed into the dark hall, gently brushing my toes against the lavish red carpet embroidered with jewels and patterns. The narrow foyer ended at a round balcony looking down at the busy streets of New York City. The terrace held the scent of lavender though it was lined with the most beautifully nurtured bluebells. Strangely, this palace seemed stranded and unnoticed by the pedestrians. Taking my eyes off the beautiful view seemed impossible until I saw it. The large crystal held my gaze as I pulled it out of the glass case avoiding any later beams. I quickly swapped it with a fake, just in time before…
“Stop that thief!” An elderly man in a police uniform pointed straight at me. I knew that no one would understand. I took the real gleaming crystal and jumped out of the terrace and landed perfectly on my feet, just like a cat. I had a good reason for stealing but they would never understand, would never listen, would never believe. But there was no time for that, I pulled the explosive off and threw it in the sea and placed the gem on the roof of a house.
